When a movie release date or trailer comes out, how many of us gets excited and look forward to watch it? How many of us are huge movie fanatics that we free our times just to have movie marathons with our loved ones? Switching off the lights with junk food surrounding us just to have a good time. Movies are just another source of entertainment that many of us turn to. Be it if you need to unwind after a stressful day at work or just to and if you are someone who likes to watch a specific genre like horror movies, how do you find a good one from the never-ending lists of movies?

From the start to end horror movies gives us anticipation and nerve wrecking suspension, making us hold the hand of the nearest person. So, for those horror fanatics we would like to make it a little easier and give you guys a little information on a few horror movies that could give you nightmares. And, we will let you guys be the judge of it.

  1. Lamb

The first movie on our list is Lamb, which will be released on September 10,2021 in Iceland. This movie has an IMDB rating of 6.5. The storyline is about a childless couple who discover a mysterious newborn on their farm in Iceland. The unexpected prospect of family life brings them much joy, even though it was a sheep that has given birth to a hybrid that has the body of a baby and the head of a lamb. It’s so bizarre that they raise the lamb child as their own. It is surely a different plot which is disturbing and horrifying to watch with the suspense of what’s to come ahead.

2. The Stairs

Next, we have The Stairs. It is an American horror movie about a group of hikers who unknowingly stumble upon a long forgotten evil. It has an IMDB rating of 7.8. The movie is about a young boy who goes hunting with his grandfather in 1997, where he stumbles upon a staircase deep in the forest and disappears leaving locals baffled about their fate. Twenty years later, a group of five hikers are pulled deeper into the treacherous trap of mountain terrain where they come across the same set of ominous stairs.

3. Midsommar

The third movie in this list is Midsommar, which has an IMDB rating of 7.1 and was released on June 18,2019. Now this is quite different from the average horror movies. Some horror fans might even not like it much. But one should actually watch this movie whilst keeping all your normal horror movies expectations aside. It’s not a scary movie but more of a traumatic one. It is about a couple who travels to Scandinavia with a couple of friends to visit a rural hometown’s fabled Swedish mid-summer festival.What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.

4. Hereditary

Hereditary, is a movie that gives you the heebie jeebies the minute you start watching it. It is a 2018 American psychological Horror movie which is extremely dark and creepy throughout keeping you on your toes. The movie is about the Graham family who begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry when the matriarch of the family dies. They begin to have disturbing, otherworldly experiences linked to the sinister secrets and emotional trauma that has been passed through the generations of their family.

5. Us

Last but not the least, Us (2019), which has an IMDB rating of 6.8. It’s a terrifying horror movie about a family’s serene beach vacation turns to chaos when their doppelgangers appear and begin to terrorize them. It is so eerily portraited with scenes that makes you jump out of your skin. This movie portrays the thrilling exploration of the past.
