Naba - The Rising Star

Little Naba picked up a tennis racket in 2017, and did not let go ever since. After many long months of committed and strict training at her tennis school, she has pushed her body and mind to the most extreme. Starting from the age of 7, just few months into tennis, she started routinely winning competitive tournaments held in Malé, one of which was the prestigious “50TH National Championships 2019”; the most significant tennis tournament held in the Maldives so far. With 5 countries taking home the majority of trophies for 1st place in events they participated, Naba was the only Maldivian player to win a final against a foreign player to keep the trophy at home. She has also participated in international tournaments held in Sri Lanka to further develop and improve her skills as a professional Tennis player. She won 4 and was runner up in 1, out of 5 tournaments she played in Colombo. Even during this pandemic, she spends her time in lockdown practicing with the aid of intensive drills, to keep progressing in order to achieve greatness. It is no question that little Naba is a true star in the making, with equal parts of determination and strength.
