If you come across a drool-worthy food photo while scrolling through Instagram, there’s a chance that Eman might have cooked them. We at KaLeo had a little talk with Eman, the Chef behind the Instagram page @eman_might_have_cooked.

Aminath Eman Abdullah works full-time, yet she still finds time to cook up a storm of both savoury and melt-in-your-mouth sweet treats. Cooking is a passion, she pursued from a young age. This eventually evolved into a business venture run by her; and making delicious home-cooked dishes for those who prefer to grab a bite is something she enjoys very much.

The process of measuring ingredients and being present in the element of cooking every step of the way can be a mindful and therapeutic experience. One thing she looks forward to is getting reviews from customers and with every review she gains more confidence to try new dishes and give those taste buds a burst of excitement.

Even though Eman_might_have_cooked does not have a fixed menu, for now her signature dishes are well known among her customers. Savoury favourites include chicken dumplings and Thai red curry; whilst sweet dishes like her brownie, butter cake and banana bread are high in demand. She can make a scrumptious chocolate cake for any occasion too.

Like any home-chef, sourcing quality ingredients at a reasonable price is a challenge for Eman as well, and running a food business during a pandemic has its very own challenges – yet, Eman is holding on to the hope that things will get better.
